Vinnies asks for help to rebuild lives

In the last three months, from the beginning of January to the end of March this year, the St Vincent de Paul Society received over 7,869 calls for assistance: that’s over 100 calls a day being received by volunteers in the Belmont Call Centre.

Hundreds voice pro-life message

Around 850 people were on hand to make a stand against abortion at the annual Walk and Rally for Life at Parliament House last week, Tuesday, 12 May. Organised by the Coalition of the Defence of Human Life, the event marked 17 years since abortion was legalised by the WA Government.

New members to Bishops' Commissions

he Australian Catholic Bishops’ Conference has appointed new membership to each of its commissions at its plenary meeting at Mary MacKillop Place, North Sydney. The bishops have elected a new chairman of each commission. Membership of the bishops’ Permanent Committee has also changed. The period of service for each of these commissions is three years, from 2015 to 2018.

MercyCare opens new Perth premises
