St Mary’s Cathedral, officially the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary, is located in Victoria Square, Perth. St Mary’s Cathedral is the cathedral church of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Perth. It is the seat of the Archbishop of Perth and is administered by the Dean of the Cathedral.
The Vocal Tutor provides essential assistance, fostering the vocal development and wellbeing of the Cathedral choir.
About the role - a snapshot:

1. Training and Development – Provide individual lessons to choristers, develop vocal programmes to meet the needs of the Cathedral music program. Prepare & organise regular rehearsal sessions. |

2. Administration & Operational Support– Conduct ensembles and sign for church services, ensuring continued musical leadership during staff absence. Support the Master of Music and the Principal Organist with the selection of the musical repertoire. |

3. Vocal Health – Access vocal health issues, guide choristers through voice change and support healthy vocal development. |
Key Responsibilities:

To be successful in this role, you must have a qualification in music, music education, vocal performance or vocal pedagogy (or equivalent professional experience). You will need strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with diverse groups of people, from beginner to advanced. You must be highly dependable and organised. You will work both independently and as part of a collaborative team.
A valid National Police Clearance, Working with Children's Check (WWC), WA Driver’s Licence, and the legal right to work in Australia are required.
