Healthcare

  • Health Services

Catholic faith based organisations such as MercyCare and St John of God Health Care Inc provide broadly based health services to those in the Western Australian community. Through the L J Goody Bioethics Centre, the Church also seeks to promote the ethical principles that should guide the complexity of modern medical science and technology. It is the resource centre for research, teaching and pastoral care focused on Catholic moral values particularly in medical practice, nursing and health care. The Centre houses a specialised library in Catholic moral theology and bioethics. These services are made available on request to individuals, ethics committees, and parliaments faced with legislative dilemmas.

  • Hospitals

There are three Catholic hospitals in the Archdiocese of Perth, all of which are operated by St John of God Health Care, Australia's third largest private hospital operator. The hospitals are located in Mt Lawley, Murdoch and Subiaco.

  • Aged Care and Nursing Homes

The Church is at the forefront of the modern need to care for the aged. This section lists the Catholic aged care and nursing homes operating in the Archdiocese of Perth.
