Bishop Sproxton met Fr Pat Byrne SVD, former Secretary General of the Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood, and Mr Francis Leong, Archdiocesan Director of Catholic Mission, at the Cathedral Presbytery on Thursday 21 October.
Fr Byrne, who is now the Provincial of the Divine Word Missionaries in Ireland and England, is in Perth to thank the people of the Archdicoese for their generous support of the Missions, and particularly for their support of the work carried out by The Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood.
The Pontifical Society of the Holy Childhood has 3000 projects currently operating around the world including orphanages, pastoral care and child health centres and education facilities.
