Holy Week 2020 has arrived amidst the challenges caused by the current COVID-19 pandemic.
With Masses now being livestreamed daily by the Archdiocese of Perth, the Perth Catholic community are this year being encouraged to participate in the celebrations of Easter from the safety of their own homes, following the Government ordered restrictions.
Director of the Office of the Archbishop, Daniel Lynch, said this opportunity is a culmination to the collaborative work of the Archdiocesan IT, Communications, Media and Marketing teams.
“In what is a very interesting moment for the Church in Perth and the world, the Archdiocese is doing its best in making use of modern technology to effectively communicate,” Mr Lynch said.
“The situation caused by the COVID-19 pandemic has been a unique opportunity for the Church to show that none of us are forgotten, so I encourage you to join your Archbishop for all our Easter services, together with the members of your household,” he said.
