  • Perth Archdiocese welcomes Ukranian Catholics, praying for end to war

    The Eparch for the Ukrainian Catholic Church Australia, New Zealand, and Oceania, Bishop Mykola Bychok CSsR and Perth Ukrainian Catholic Parish Priest Father Ihor Holovko joined Perth Archbishop Timothy Costelloe SDB and Auxiliary Bishop Don Sproxton for Divine Liturgy on Sunday 27 March, two days after Pope Francis consecrated Russia and Ukraine “to the Immaculate heart of our all-Holy Lady”.

    Praying before a statue of Mary that was loaned by the Shrine of Our Lady of Fatima at San Vittoriano on the outskirts of Rome, Pope Francis pleaded with Mary to "accept this act that we carry out with confidence and love. Grant that war may end, and peace spread throughout the world."
