Archbishop Timothy Costelloe invited the whole Archdiocese of Perth and local community to pray that the God of compassion will inspire compassion in all of us, especially for the people of Ukraine at this time.

“Shaping and moulding us into people whose hearts are moved by the sufferings of others and who try our best to do whatever we can to help,” Archbishop Costelloe said.

“The need for generous, large-hearted compassion will always be present in our broken and fragile world,” he said

Pope Francis last week announced that on the Solemnity of the Annunciation of the Lord on Friday, 25 March 2022, he will formally consecrate Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary.

Archbishop Costelloe has this week released a video making an Act of Consecration of Ukraine and Russia to the Immaculate Heart of Mary, in communion with Pope Francis.

Archbishop Costelloe will repeat the Act of Consecration at St Mary’s Cathedral, Friday 25 March at the 8am Mass.
