St John of God Murdoch Hospital is part of St John of God Health Care Inc, a not-for-profit Catholic organisation dedicated to furthering the healing mission of Jesus Christ.  

Established in 1994 to provide comprehensive, quality health services for patients in Perth’s southern suburbs, St John of God Murdoch Hospital is now one of Australia’s leading private health campuses.  

We have continued to grow and improve our services to meet contemporary standards and today, the hospital has 507 beds including a 20 bed hospice, a 24-hour emergency department, 20 chair cancer centre and a wide range of clinical and diagnostic services including medical, surgical, paediatric, maternity, palliative care and critical and coronary care.  

Perioperative facilities include 16 theatres, 5 endoscopy suites and 2 cardiac catheterisation laboratories.  

Our campus features two onsite medical centres, with over 250 consulting specialists, and provides support services such as radiology, physiotherapy, pathology and nuclear medicine. Also onsite are a retail pharmacy, florist, three cafés, a 12-bed freestanding day surgery centre, and a state of the art training and education centre (MURTEC).  

Our care is distinctive with the incorporation of mission and values into everyday activities, with more than 1700 caregivers providing a warm and welcoming environment to meet our patients' every need during their stay. Our nurses and midwives are recognised for their ability to combine dedicated, patient focused care with the highest levels of clinical excellence.  

The Hospital also has affiliations or partner programs with teaching institutions such as the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, Edith Cowan University, and the University of Notre Dame.
