Perth metro, Peel Region to enter hard lockdown

Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,
The Perth metropolitan area and the Peel region are moving to a 3-day lockdown effective at 12.01 am Saturday, 24 April 2021 until 12.01 am Tuesday, 27 April 2021. Masks will be mandatory from 6.00 pm Friday, 23 April 2021 until further notice.
The following restrictions apply directly to the clergy, agencies, staff and the operations of the Archdiocese of Perth for the lockdown period:
• people should not leave Perth or Peel during this period;
• no visitors will be allowed in homes unless caring for a vulnerable person or in an emergency; and
• no visitors to hospitals or residential aged care and/or disability facilities.
Weddings and funerals are allowed, but will be limited to 100 people, not including staff. Masks must be worn by all people in a place of worship.
Large religious gatherings (excluding weddings and funerals) are suspended, and places of worship in Perth metro and Peel region are to close. (With the exception of weddings and funerals.)
People will be required to stay at home unless they need to:
• leave home for work because they cannot work from home or remotely;
• go to shopping for essential items;
• attend to medical and healthcare needs; and
• undertake exercise.
