Dear brothers and sisters in Christ,

The Perth metropolitan area and the Peel and South West regions are moving to a 5-day lockdown effective at 6pm, Sunday 31 January, 2021 until 6pm Friday, 5 February 2021.

Effective from 6pm tonight (Sunday, 31 January 2021) until 6pm Friday, 5 February 2021, the Perth metropolitan area, Peel and South West regions will enter a lockdown. 

The following restrictions most directly apply to the clergy, agencies, staff and the operations of the Archdiocese of Perth for the lockdown period: 
•    People should not leave Perth, Peel or the South West during this period;
•    No visitors will be allowed in homes unless caring for a vulnerable person or in an emergency;
•    No visitors to hospitals or residential aged care and/or disability facilities;
•    No weddings permitted; and
•    Funerals are limited to 10 people.

The following facilities in the Perth, Peel and South West regions will need to close:
•    Large religious gatherings and places of worship.

People will be required to stay at home unless they need to: 
•    work because they can’t work from home or remotely.

All Archdiocesan staff are not to come to work unless they absolutely have to, and then if they do enter the workplace they need to wear a mask at all times. Masks are also required at any time outside the home.
