The Premier has this afternoon advised that from 6.00pm on Thursday, 23 December 2021 until 6.00am on Tuesday, 28 December 2021 a number of restrictions will come into effect.

These public health and social measures include:
•    mandatory mask wearing for all public indoor settings and on public transport;
•    certain high-risk large-scale events, such as music festivals, will be cancelled and nightclubs will be closed; and dancing is banned except for weddings;
•    anyone who has been in the Perth metropolitan and Peel region since Thursday, 16 December 2021 and enters another regional area is required to wear a mask as per requirements in Perth-Peel; and
•    travel to remote Aboriginal communities remain restricted.

All these measures will be reviewed regularly and the Chief Health Officer will continue to monitor the serious situation and provide more ongoing advice. At present places of worship remain open, but masks must be worn.

The Department of Health is working through the case and is in the process of identifying close and casual contacts, and locations visited.

People are asked to check the exposure sites list regularly and monitor their health and get tested immediately and self-quarantine, if they develop symptoms.
